Marius Hellmund studied Transportation Engineering at the University of Wuppertal. He wrote his master thesis about the suitability of winter sports ressorts in the Alps for car-free, public transport-oriented accessibility and mobility on site.
During his studies he was already working as a student assistant at the Chair for Public Transport and Mobility Management and contributed, among others, to the research project BMM³. Since November 2020 he has been working as a research associate at the Chair.
