Michael Kaufmann studied Transportation Engineering at the University of Wuppertal. He wrote his master thesis about the feasibility to reactivate the Niederbergbahn with an additional focus on possible alternative routes for the current PanoramaRadweg niederbergbahn cycle path.
During his studies he was already working as a student assistant at the Chair for Public Transport and Mobility Management and contributed, among other things, to the accompanying research for the car sharing project JoeCar. Since October 2021 he has been working as a research associate at the Chair.
